Thank you to everyone who showed up to our first photowalk yesterday! It was great to meet so many other photographers and talk about our photos, cameras, techniques, and processing tips.

Everyone met at Powell Street cable car turnaround and started to head west up Market. It was immediately apparent that the harsh light beaming into the street would make getting good photos a challenge. So, we headed towards Hayes Valley, walked through Alamo Square, and up to Divisadero. We eventually made our way to 18th and Castro, with the last photographers heading into The Mission for a burrito at Taqueria Cancun.

Thanks folks for organizing the event – it was absolutely awesome. It was also brilliant to have had the opportunity to meet so many of you in real life. I posted a bit about it here:

    Thanks again!

  2. I hope you do this again! It was so much fun. We did get distracted by Citizen Cake and lost the group, but we kept shooting all afternoon.

I posted my photos on http://www.tiltshiftpix.com/Street-Scenes/San-Francisco/calibersfpw103109

Laurel, I just saw your picture of me, and I have to tell you how much I love it! My wife likes it, too, sort of… though I suspect she might just be humoring me about that. She does that sometimes. But seriously, *I* like it very much.

It was great to meet you Saturday, and I completely understand how a person can get distracted by Citizen Cake. Also, just for future reference, I spell my name with a K, not a C. Not a big deal, just FYI.

Hope to see you and your tilt-shift again at future photowalks! (Oh, and you need to meet Bhautik, aka Captin_Nod, with his home-made tilt-shift plunger cam. Next time!)

Ditto what Stuart said. Really appreciate the great turn out. Far exceed my expectations. My only regret was not spending more time meeting and talking with everyone. I’ll do better on that next time for sure!

  7. Julie says:

I’m with Stuart and Brad! I’m sorry I missed the evening’s adventures but I sure had a great time with you all. Thanks again for joining us!

I wouldn’t have missed it, and had an even better time than I expected. Thanks so much to all for putting it together. It was great getting to meet so many people passionate about photography.

Now I just want to know when we can get together and do it again!
