There is no way to get around it: I was born and raised in Michigan. And while the love affair between The City and me continues to get hotter and dicier, I am not one of the lucky few who can say with pride, “I am a native San Franciscan.” Words do not exist to describe how much this truth has haunted me for the past 13 years.
As I am continuing to re-process and re-post my images to my new accounts, I recently ran across the above shot. I took this photo on July 5th, 2007. My wife and I were in Grand Haven, Michigan for a wedding. And when I shot this back in 2007, I almost deleted it soon after.
This is the first time I have seen this image since I decided not to delete it.

Never delete! Never delete! And may I add… NEVER, EVER DELETE!!
There’s no reason not to be proud of where you’re from.
Nice shot, by the way. Sometimes it takes time to see a photo for what it is.
good decision….
i’m glad you moved here.
