AKA “Coolest Stairwell in San Francisco.”
I think I developed my passion for old stairwells while staying in an apartment in Paris, in a building originally constructed in 1625. Although San Francisco’s architecture doesn’t offer those same romantic, gently curved stairwells, we still have some pretty good ones. The Hearst Building is on the corner of Market Street at Third and has wonderful Art Deco decor.
