Yup, it's a great shot!
And I've been thinking about it since I say it yesterday... I spent a bit of time mulling over my own childhood that was filled with similar wonderful stuff -- but this kid made out like a Bandit -- or should I say, a Fire-Chief... Now he can protect his home and the neighborhood... And he will learn all about volunteering... Volunteering life and limb and the occasional third-degree burn... It's such a sense of satisfaction... And all accomplished at such an early age...

But darn it, Julie, I sure wish you had more detail in your whites... I don't know -- maybe a bit of exposure-compensation or maybe a bit of fill flash, but hell -- who's got time for all of that when you've got a scene unfolding right in front of you -- a scene you're probably going to miss if you've got to hook up a fill-flash or fiddle with exposure-compensation... It's a GREAT photo just the way it is... I got the message, and had a whole lot of fun thinking about it... Kudos...
