I'm using and IBM ThinkPad, 15" screen set to resolution 1680x1050, i.e., the maximum. Also have a Dell Studio machine with a 25" monitor with resolution set to 1920x1080. The font size is better, but if I were to read your entire site, I would increase the font size. To see what I'm seeing, look at http://www.schweich.com/images/calibersf20100210.jpg. Thanks. Tom

Hey, thanks for the feedback Tom. We are going to be doing a site design update soon and will take that into consideration.

Just curious, what size monitor are you viewing this on?

Huh ... well, the Google Alert took me to the Caliber site, which is where I think I'm writing this. The default stylesheet is "dark," while you're right there is an alternate stylesheet of "light." That's easier to read, but the default font, specified as "font: normal .82em," is really small. That's on Firefox; it's marginally better using Internet Exploder. It's not that big of deal, I can also just turn styles off when using Firefox. It just generated the comment because I receive a lot of Google Alerts for Mono Lake that link to photographers' blogs and web sites, and many of them use really tiny fonts on dark backgrounds. Peace.

Scratching my head here -- my blog (AphotoAday) is definitely black text on a very light gray background, although the text might be kind of small (here, I'll loan you my reading glasses). Maybe you were referring to the Caliber site -- but you can change the color of the Caliber background by clicking on one of the two little boxes at the top of the page labeled "Style". I always keep mine set on white.
Best regards, Don

As someone who wakes up every day to a cup of coffee and Donald Kinney's Photo A Day blog, it's wonderful to get a better sense of the artist and the craft behind the work. And, of course, it's great to see this wonderful photographer getting some of the attention he and his work so richly deserve! Thanks Caliber.

I was attracted to your blog by the mention of Mono Lake and Bodie. However, I find it very difficult to read. The combination of tiny white sans-serif font on a black background is almost impossible to read for an old fart like me. Why do the artsy-types make this font choice?
