Banksy
by Troy on Apr.22, 2010
What appears to be Banksy, as seen in Chinatown. I spoke to a woman who knew how to read the sign on the right, she said it reads “please do not paint over this vandalism as it is the subject of investigation.” Yikes.
The elusive street artist also installed a piece in the Mission District.

I would almost bet that the sign is part of the installation.

Do not remove for investigation? That would be a clever way to prevent your piece from being buffed

I was there when the property owner put up the sign. He didn’t seemed too fazed by the piece and said he was putting up the notice so no one else would paint over it.

are they “investigating” to see how much they can sell the Banksy piece for?

Can anyone tell us what street/closest intersection this is located?

Looks like Commercial and Grant to me. It is really close to The Wok Shop on Grant street.

There’s a 3rd Banksy piece right off Mission Street. In an alley near the freeway.
