Welcome to CaliberSF — a group of four San Francisco/Bay Area photographers: Stuart Dixon, Travis Jensen, Julie Michelle, and Troy Holden.
“I photograph to find out what something will look like photographed.” — Garry Winogrand
Our subject matter will focus on The City and its surrounding cities, with the occasional trek across state and international borders.
“As I progressed further with my project, it became obvious that it was really unimportant to me where I chose to photograph. The particular place simply provided an excuse to produce work…you can only see what you are ready to see — what mirrors your mind at that particular time.” — George Tice
Our goal is to promote photography while acknowledging the present as well as the past, in whichever form it may show itself.
“The camera is my tool. Through it I give reason to everything around me.” — André Kertész

This is a really fantastic site. Love the shots and I love the personality. Is this a just for fun thing or what?
Really brilliant guys, I’m very inspired =)
Would love to become a regular contributor!
Do you guys do photo meet ups? Please email me if so, would love to get involved.
Peter
Hi Peter,
We do have photo meet ups. Our next one will be in July most likely. Best thing is to keep checking the site as we post and tweet about our events a few weeks in advance.
Hope to see you next time.
Julie
I love the photos posted on Caliber.
Curious about something: Since many of the photos here are posted on Flickr, and are therefore (at least theoretically) publicly accessible, why not link directly to the Flickr page of each photo? For those photographers who want to share all sizes of the image with viewers, this would make the originals easier for viewers to find.
Obviously I’m not arguing that anyone is obligated to share wallpaper-sized images if they don’t want to — just that if the images are already on Flickr and shared anyway, it would be nice to link from here to there.
Apologies if I’m missing something or if this request is in any way obtuse.
Yes, please provide flickr links! It’s so much easier to find a photo that I’ve fave’d on flickr instead of one I’ve bookmarked somewhere.
